School Daze

Today was the very first day of Kindergarten. What a rush. No, literally, I mean what a rush. This morning we get to the bus stop with 5 other neighborhood kids, only to find out that the bus had already been to the bus stop an astounding 15 minutes early!! After we walked back home, we loaded up in the truck to drive Grayson to school. The parking lot was chaos. Greg decided to let me and Grayson out and he and Finley stayed in the car, while he found a place to turn around. I told Grayson he needed to find his classroom on his own and he went right to it and even remembered the room number. There were only 7 other kids there today, and 7 more will attend on Wednesday and also Thursday. Everybody will go on Friday. He ran in, put away his lunch box, hung up his backpack and ran back to the door to give me one last hug. No tears, no regrets, just all smiles. He did make it to the bus for the trip home and said he loved every minute of it. What a grown up Kindergartner. Happy First Day of School, Grayson. We are very proud of you. (Now, just please don't make me have to come to the principals office like you did in pre-school!!)
