Bus Building - DIY

Saturday Greg and Grayson went to Lowe's to Build a Bus. They have a kid's workshop every other Saturday, with small wooden projects for the kids to make. They also have workshops at Home Depot once a month. He received an wood workers apron, a pair of goggles, got to use a real hammer and nails, and a patch and certificate that says he completed the bus building. He really enjoyed himself and we plan to go back many more Saturdays.

PreSchool 101

Finley's first day of Preschool was today. She had a ball. She was pushing me away while we were trying to get a picture so she could go and play with everything. Little Stinker. She got to color and sing and also had a mixed fruit salad for her snack time with ice water. She tries so hard to be just like Grayson. So she wasn't sad at all about me leaving her there. There were no tears, no screams, just a smile and a "Bye Momma" and she was off like a flash. I remember when I was taking Grayson to school there at Wesley, she was a newborn. Also her Teacher Ms. Kathy, was Grayson's teacher as well, so she already knows all about Finley. That makes me feel better.

Baby makes Brownies

Finley has taken quite an interest lately in what is going on at the kitchen counters. She decided she would "help" me make a batch of brownies. She grabbed her step stool, spoon and proceeded to lick the bowl clean and was mad when it was all gone!! I think she ended up with more chocolate on her than in her. What a big girl she is turning into so quickly. She tries to do everything just like her big brother does. What a joy she brings to our home.

Splish Splash

Have you ever been to the Splash Pad? It is downtown across the street from the new Police Department. It is quite a haul for us, but definitely worth the drive. Oh, and did I mention it's free. Another reason it is worth the drive. There are several water sprayers, a very large shower shaped fountain, two water canons and buckets that fill from 10 feet up and then dump water on you when they are full. I took Grayson one hot afternoon after school and we were the only two there. What a blast.
"No doubt about it! God is Good..." Psalm 73:1

The Tooth Fairy gives up

Grayson's second lost tooth... down the drain. No, literally, down the drain. He ate another tooth! Can you believe it? So it to is somewhere in the Wilmington Sewer System. And no, the Tooth Fairy did not look "there" for it. We told him the Tooth Fairy is getting really miffed that she has to leave money and she doesn't get the goods. There is a third tooth now loose, so stay tuned and we will keep you posted.

Are you listening?

These are pictures of Grayson's daily Behavior Progress Report. He gets them daily from his teachers. The reason I am taking pictures of the report is that this is the first week that he has gotten good marks in all catagories. After 3 weeks, I think he finally gets it. He was very proud of himself, as were we. I had talked to him daily about his bad marks, taken away computer time, T.V. time, outside time, and so forth, but nothing seemed to make him understand he had to listen and be still at times. We don't know what changed or who said what to make him understand, but we'll take it!!
"God has given us these times of joy." Psalm 81:4

MY First Day of Kindergarten

Today was my turn to volunteer in Grayson's classroom at school. Since they have cut several teacher assistant positions across the county, our teacher asked for some weekly helpers. It was more fun than I expected. I figured the teachers would have me making copies or running errands, which I wouldn't mind, that is what I volunteered for. But I actually got to help with a lesson and read a few books. I didn't have Grayson's group, but had a great bunch of kids, who made me smile. It's been a while since I have been to Kindergarten, but I now see why Grayson loves it so much.

Breakfast of Champions

How do you eat your cereal? Do you have as much fun as Finley? I doubt it. Just look at the concentration on her face and then her smile. What a doll.(and what a mess, yuck)
"...The Lord delights in you..." Isaiah 62:4

Are you Puzzled?

We just love puzzles at our house. Especially me and Grayson. Here he is with two of his latest puzzles, each 100 pieces. I helped him get the edges together, but he did the rest all by himself. I thought they were pretty hard for a 5 year old, but he whipped them both out in one afternoon. Grayson, you rock!

Thing One and Thing Two

Just look at those t-shirts. All of you computer literate people out there will notice they say V1.0 on Greg's shirt and V2.0 on Grayson's shirt. In everyday words, it means Thing One and Thing Two. Like father like son.
